The Church of Do Better

About

What this is.

The Church of Better Men is a Christ-rooted, multi-faith-welcoming community of practice. It exists to help people walk the path of continual growth — grounded in gratitude, truth, accountability, service, and faith in action.

Origin

The church was founded by three Abbotts — Wes (Alchemy), Kor Element (Prophecy), and Anthony (Achievement) — to give shape to a lived doctrine they had been writing toward for years. The five pillars and twenty-five tenets came out of that work.

What we do

We hold the doctrine. We practise it. We help others practise it. The simplest form of participation is the daily question: Where do you need to do better today?

The directory

The church founded gogoselfcontrol.org — a directory of men's gatherings across the English-speaking world. The directory is deliberately religion-dry: a man arriving there should not feel he has walked into a Christian space, or any specific tradition's space. It exists to help any man who needs his men find his men. The church gave the directory its name and mission; the directory keeps its own voice.

Tone and welcome

The church is Christ-rooted by lineage, but it does not require Christian profession. The doctrine itself uses the language of growth, accountability, brotherhood, and faith that any person of goodwill can walk with. If our practice serves you, you are welcome here. If you find your home in another tradition, the doctrine still walks with you.
