The Church of Do Better

How to walk it

The Path.

The Church of Better Men is a practice, not a membership. You participate by doing better today than yesterday — and helping another do the same.

Daily

Every day, the church asks one question: Where do you need to do better today? The home page hosts a Daily Reflection — type your honest answer, and the doctrine answers back with the tenet that fits and a small prompt to carry into the day.

A live AI agent is in development. For now the reflection is doctrine-matched, kept private in your browser, and never sent anywhere.

Weekly

Pick one tenet to live with each week. Read its gloss. Notice the moments when it speaks, the moments when you fail it, the moments when you turn around and try again. Twenty-five tenets, twenty-five weeks — half a year of practice.

The mission

Two simple instructions, in the right order:

Do better. Then help another do better.

The first comes before the second. We do not preach what we have not practised. We do not lift others while leaving our own house unswept. But neither do we wait until we are perfect to begin — we begin where we are, and we let our small turning toward better make the room for someone else's.

The directory

The Church of Better Men founded gogoselfcontrol.org — a directory of men's gatherings (circles, ministries, recovery rooms, mentorships, fraternals) across the English-speaking world. The directory is religion-dry by design, receiving men of every tradition and none. If you need to find your men, start there.
